Doggy Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day

Doggy Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day

Does your Valentine have sweet brown eyes, likes long walks anywhere, gives the sloppiest kisses, and can always be found at your feet? We are, of course, talking about the special bond between you and your pup!

So, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we’ve rounded up some excellent doggy date ideas. (And if you happen to have a two-legged sweetheart, they can come too.) After all, February 14th is all about celebrating love -- and really, who do you love more than your dog?

Plan a Staycation At A Dog-Friendly Hotel or Vacation Rental

Get away from your everyday routine and book a couple of nights at a nearby pet-friendly hotel or vacation rental. However, don’t plan on leaving your furry friend in the room alone all day, or you might be looking at a hefty room service bill.

Have a Dog-Themed Movie Marathon

Grab the pupcorn and cuddle up on the couch for a doggy movie marathon. Our movie recommendations include Lady and the Tramp, Air Bud, Beetoven, 101 Dalmatians, and Must Love Dogs.

Shop ‘Til You Drop

Is gift-giving one of your love languages? Hit the pet store or do some online shopping with your pup. Let them pick out the perfect present, and if you really want to win points with your doggy date, pick up a special Valentine’s Day treat!

Take a Romantic Hike

Hiking is one of the best doggy date activities! So grab your leash and harness and hit the trails with your adventurous valentine. Load up your backpack with snacks, water, or a romantic picnic. If it’s a bit cooler where you live, our Frenchie Hoodies can help keep your pup warm and looking good on the trails.

Bake Some Treats

Nothing says "I love you" like a homemade treat! So why not plan a baking day with your pooch pal? Head online, where you'll find loads of yummy recipes for both you and your pup. So spend your day warm and cozy baking delicious treats, and don't forget to let your furry valentine lick the bowl!

Have a Doga Date

Do 'downward dog' with your dog! That's right...doga...or yoga for dogs is a fun way to spend time and exercise with your pup. Doga has benefits galore for you and your pooch. It focuses on meditating, stretching, and teaching your furry friend to stay calm and relaxed. If you can't find a local doga class, you can always set up a temporary yoga studio at home and follow instructional online.

Get Crafty With Your Canine

Unleash your pup’s inner artist, and get creative with colorful doggie-approved, washable paints. Spread out a tarp and lay down a poster board or canvas so your pooch can create a masterpiece. Then, dip your Pawcasso’s paws in the paint or use a pet-friendly inkpad, and let them express themselves through painting.

Go to an Indoor Dog Park

When it’s too cold to go to your regular dog park, make your way to an indoor dog park where your pup can run, jump, slide and play with other dogs to burn off all that pent-up energy.

Have a Fancy Dinner at Home

Make your reservation for the hottest new restaurant in town… your kitchen! Skip the kibble and can food for the night, and cook up a dog-friendly feast from scratch. You can even get special beer and wine made just for dogs. Just be mindful of any allergies or food sensitivities your dog may have, and keep portions appropriate for your pup’s size.
