Frenchie Gives Back: Celebrating Another Year With Emma Loves Dogs!

Welcome back, Frenchie family!

Today we are sharing a very exciting update from one of our favorite charities: Emma Loves Dogs! Last year we got to learn all about Emma Loves Dogs which is a charity that provides financial assistance to organizations that share a passion for helping animals, such as police K9 units and non-kill animal shelters.

One year later we are doing a follow up to share all the amazing work Emma Loves Dogs has done this past year 🥰.

“Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 2021 has brought many ups and downs but with your support the Emma Loves Dogs Foundation has been able to show that kindness matters. This year we’ve awarded $102,460 to well-deserved animal organizations and police K9s around the country.”

“On Emma's 10th birthday, the Emma Loves Dogs Foundation surprised JR Pups N Stuff with a gift of $5,000 to continue their efforts in helping homeless and abandoned dogs from the southern parts of the country and find their forever homes.”

“Back in June, K9 Emma was sworn into service. This dog was dedicated in honor of our Emma and was donated to the City of Waukesha Police Department to become their first ever K9 in the department.”

“In 2021, we supported the San Diego Humane Society with a gift to help them provide low-cost veterinary care to those who need help the most.”

“Just before Christmas, the Emma Loves Dogs Foundation awarded the Augusta WI Police Department with a grant of $2,500. We were represented by board member Kelly and her family, on their way to visit family in Minnesota for the holiday. The grant will be used to support the needs of their 3 K9s; Turbo, Jake and School Therapy K9 Milli (pictured with the Zimmerman’s). Thank you for all that you do to keep your community safe! We are proud to support you.”

“We received a very creative grant request from the Rhinelander Police Department. K9 Patrol Officer Raddatz reached out and asked us if we would consider funding the purchase of plush dogs of K9 Jason. The plush dogs, or miniature stuffed animals, would then be used to sell to the local community, possibly tripling our grants impact.

Emma was gifted hundreds of plush K9s from all over the country, as she battled cancer. They really cheered her up and she proudly displayed them on the shelves in her bedroom, where they are still displayed today. A sincere thank you to everyone who gave her one. To continue to pay it forward…We are pleased to announce that we have awarded a grant in the amount of $5,000 to support this request.

Here is what Officer Raddatz said, ‘The grant donation is a huge asset to help our fundraising efforts. Our K9 Unit is, like most others, is funded solely on donations and fundraising efforts. By using the grant to purchase K9 plush dogs of K9 Jason we will be able to make a huge jump forward for fundraising. The proceeds of the K9 plush dogs will be available to use for training or equipment needs. I have already started the ordering process for the plush dogs and will send an update when they arrive! Thank you!’”

“The Emma Loves Dogs Foundation recently supported the inaugural K9 for the Fall River Police Department (WI) with a grant of $5,000. K9 Rico is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois from the Netherlands. K9 Rico’s first week on the job resulted in a drug arrest of 27 grams of methamphetamine on a traffic stop. He is off to a great start making a difference in the community as well as the neighboring communities.”

“The Emma Loves Dogs Foundation is proud to support the Appleton Police Department (Appleton, WI) with a $5,000 grant to assist with the cost of new K9 Faro. Representing #TeamEmma for the check presentation was board member Andrew, along with his family and local supporters of the foundation.”

In November we hosted the 2nd Annual “Night of Kindness” Gala raised over $66,000 to support Emma’s dream of helping dogs! We were overwhelmed by the support of our sponsors, auction donations and guests. The emotions of the evening were exactly what we needed.

Emma wanted us to help as many dogs as we can but really wanted to spread kindness to everyone we reach. We heard story after story about how Emma has touched those near and far. It filled our broken hearts.

This was a celebration of our little girls only wish. We had lots of fun with a silent and live auction, watched an artist paint (upside down) during dinner and ended the evening with dueling pianos playing all the songs the dance floor wanted to hear!

What an exciting year! We love Emma Loves Dogs Foundation and are proud to continue to share the good work that they do.
